Hello!

26 Answers

I need help. My weight this year has gone above a comfortable chubby level and it’s really affecting my lifestyle.
I’m a working mum with no family help and time poor. My basic exercise routine is only maintaining my weight and being time poor I don’t always grab the most healthy food option.
Im resorting the meal replacement shakes. What have you found to be the most effective for you and what level of exercise did you combine it with.

  • I use arbonne… pea protein shakes

  • I think any one would be better than none. I found celebrity slim great years ago but not as accessible these days unfortunately. Optifast tastes awful if that helps

  • I don’t agree with replacement meals for weight loss. I think whatever you do to lose weight needs to be sustainable so you can keep doing it and keep the weight off

  • I gavebt used it but I’ve heard good things about the CSIRO weight loss program which includes shakes.

  • I’m now 11 weeks into using Optifast as breakfast & lunch replacements & I’m 8.5 kilo’s down! Feeling lighter now too! I have managed to walk for 10/20 mins a day too, which I’m sure has helped with the weight loss.

  • I am not sure about those shakes…and I didn’t like the taste of them

  • Have you considered making your own healthy smoothies? For example you could make a nice nutritious smoothie packed with vitamins and minerals for breakfast or whenever you feel peckish throughout the day. It tastes great and will fill you up. Most pre-made meal replacement drinks or powders etc are not very healthy. You can get a smoothie mixer very cheap from Kmart or Big W. It would work out cheaper doing that and buying your own fruit in the long run than buying meal replacement drinks. My fave smoothie recommendation: Fresh strawberries, Fresh banana, Frozen Passionfruit cubes, Frozen blueberries, Frozen Raspberries, Chia seeds, Spinach (you cannot taste it mixed with the other fruit but it’s soo good for you) and Coconut Milk because dairy will make you bloated and promote mucus in the body. I try to buy organic fruit, chia seeds and coconut milk etc when it’s available as it’s even better for you but that’s not necessary.

  • If you have Terry White pharmacy close go to them tbey have heaps of ideas. Or Fat Blaster drink you add to water or take as a shot

  • I am using Optislim shakes at the moment and they seem to be working
I have lost 30kg since last Xmas in combination with a bit of exercise

  • I have posted before but the name of the shakes are Aldi Shakes not as previously stated

  • I’ve never tried them myself but my husband has. In his experience they are all much the same but don’t really work long term. Every time he has used them, he has lost lots of weight but as soon as he stops and returns to eating solid foods, he puts it all back on plus more. The only time he has really been successful in keeping the weight off was when he stopped drinking alcohol, ate healthy & exercised everyday. He wasn’t able or willing I guess to maintain that lifestyle & is now bigger than ever :(

  • My best weight loss tip is stress. We were evicted, I stressed out, anxiety kicked in and I ended up losing 9 kg. I was shocked

  • Truthfully eating properly and walking is the easiest way to lose weight. Drinking does help but when you start eating again you gain it back..

  • I am not sure if they are really good …

  • What worked for me was not combining certain foods at the same meal. i.e. Eating potatoes only with vegetables or salad. Same but eating proteins only with salads and vegetables.
