  • It’s hard to know what stage of childhood she’s in to answer accordingly. Kids become more independent as they age, and some more than others.

  • What age is your daughter? So hard to answer this without knowing. Telling her you want to be more involved might work.

  • A lot of variables – it depends on age etc. Rather than you involving yourself in her activities, why do you involve her in yours. Like cooking, cleaning , grocery shopping etc.

  • How old is your girl ? Nothing wrong with independence. I think it’s something we should all instill in our children, giving them choices and a sense of control while as the parent still being the one who caries the responsibility. There’re many ways you can be involved by doing things together like the wash, hanging the wash, cooking together, mopping the floor, wiping of the cupboards, doing the groceries together, gardening, drawing and doing crafts together, dancing & singing, endless possibilities.

  • My daughter is exactly the same. So independent. But she’s also capable of asking for help when she needs it. It’s a good balance

  • I have two independent daughters, I drive them to school as their school is too far to walk. This gives us time in the morning and afternoon to chat. I also take my girls shopping, even grocery shopping so we can have a bit of a chat. Going for walks with the dog and the family is another great way to have a great chat to your kids!

  • Independence is good, but teaching children that they can also seek support is good. Good Luck.

  • Try some new things together

  • Depending on age perhaps try to find a hobby you can do together.

  • It depends on the age of your daughter? Maybe do a hobby that you both enjoy? Maybe a lunch date/coffee/milkshake date depending on the age of your daughter. It also depends on what you are wanting to be involved in?
