Hello!

Hi mums, I’m 6 days overdue and to say that I’m uncomfortable is a huge understatement. I understand that nothing will make baby come until he’s ready but I feel like he is and it’s so close- he has completely run out of room and his head is engaged – this is my second baby, my first child even came earlier then this!!! I reallllllly want to avoid my medical induction on Monday, I’m willing to try any old wive tale natural induction method- can anyone offer some tips?

  • I don’t recomnend any ‘natural’ ways to bring on labour. They all come with different degrees of danger, to yourself and your baby. Best to let the doctors deal with things. I trust it all went well?

  • oh yes. it absolutely needs to be food grade. here. to help you know about pure castor oils htps://www.castoroilreview.com/products/pure-castor-oil/

  • To Joanna: having a castor oil that is “pure” is not enough. it needs to be food grade and that’s the most important part. else, you’ll just poison yourself and the baby.

  • thanks for the tips guys. yeah I’ve already scheduled an appointment with my doctor. just asking around for more information.

  • even if its pure castor oil it does not guarantee the safety of the baby. your best course of action is go to your doctor first.

  • to mom257690: most people say that pure castor oil is effective. but I also see some actual medical pros that discourage the use of castor oil for inducing labor. take this one for instance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCuVvqkc3DE
my take is, it depends on person to person. but I’d most likely stick to the meds.

  • i’ve been having the same jitters and I also find a lot of mention of castor oil when trying to induce labor. is it safe?

  • Nice blog! i’ve been meaning to use castor oil for my eyelashes. i have a spare mascara wand that i can use. would it be better than using qtips? thanks!

  • I went ten days overdue and can safely say nothing works. Nothing at all.

  • I had a bunch of nurse friends – and they told me to take some oil I cannot remember the name of – had my son the next day

  • I would not swallow anything to bring labour on, particularly castor oil. Activity is probably the best way to go. Would love to hear how you went :)

  • So I know you would have had bubba by now! Congrats but for any other mum reading this in the same position try nipple stimulation! I tried it on a sat night and Sunday night I had my bubba! :) I wasn’t even overdue! :)

  • Orgasms
when you orgasm it releases oxytocin which causes labour to start.
when you are medically induced they use a synthetic version of oxytocin

  • Rasberry Leaf tea and also a naturpath can help you with acupanture and other treatments.

  • I am so glad it worked for some my two were to stubborn after trying alot of different things both labors had to be medically induced. Stealing some I hadn’t heard of for next time :)
