Does anyone know of a good safe way to stop my neighbour’s cat from doing it’s business in my garden,

  • I know chilli or vinegar spray works to keep away possums so could work for cats

  • The citrus peels seemed to work. Thanks June.

  • yeah tell your neighbours and ask them to keep the cat in or something.

  • Thank you for your response June11. The citrus peel sounds like an easy and safe way to deter the cat, and will probably be good for the soil as well when the peels decompose. I’ll try the bottles of water as well.

  • They hate the smell of citrus. If you put the peel of oranges or lemons cut in half with the “hole” facing upwards they will avoid the soil next to/near it. I also put bottles of water in the garden bed. That discouraged them too, Not only is unsightly and smelly, it is also a health issue. Cats carry worms which they deposit in the poo onto the ground. Not only are they are risk to people but to your pets too.
