Hello!

This might be a silly question but my 4 and 6 year old keep asking for nerf guns and all his friends have them! what are people’s experience?

  • They are lot’s of fun for kids, its up to you though.

  • I mean it would depend on the child how they use it,my 2 kept fighting and hurting eachother -.-purposely so i just threw them out

  • They sound like alot of fun but ultimately it’s up to you

  • gosh my kid was like 3 when he started using them. obvious supervision and googles are a good tip. they are heaps of fun. it says 8 and up on the box but littles can use them.

  • I hope I am not too late for their birthdays but I say go for it!! My boys AND my girls have such fun with them. As long as they’re taught to use them responsibly then they’ll have a blast :)

  • I think they’re awesome, it’s just a bit of fun and we draw targets they shoot at! I always thought I’d be against any kind of guns with my boys but I’ve actually realised this is a fun and harmless part of imaginative play and great for fine motor skills and eye hand coordination!

  • My six year old grandson has a nerf gun and he and his dad and uncle have a lot of fun shooting blown up balloons! Its most important that children know that they cannot aim at a person, so the balloons are a great alternative. And playing with an adult ensures that the kids aim at the proper target.

  • I don’t like them and said I was never gonna get them for my boys – my family didn’t listen and bought them some so I do buy them from time to time – my boys are now 14 and 5.

  • I’ve found boys will use anything as a toy gun but if they aren’t mature enough to follow rules about shooting people I’d wait.

  • I didnt want my son playing with guns, hes now 5 I gave in and let him have a couple nerf ones to play with, he became nasty towards others so they have been put away. Maybe when hes older.

  • I personally don’t like guns of any sort for my son (5 years old) but he plays with them at friends houses and does really like them.

  • My grandsons have them . They have heaps of fun. Nerf actually have bought out a target shooting gadget that uses air to suspend balls in the air for them to aim at … I thought that was a little more agreeable than always shooting each other

  • I would look at the recommended age then decide if they really need it now!my son does have a few if used properly then it would be fine!

  • They are fine, my son has about 6 ( some were present’s from others) and majority of his friends have them. As long as they don’t shoot each other too close up they don’t hurt.
