My newborn has reflux and colic. Does anyone have a baby with similar conditions?

  • My son had this for his first few weeks and boy did we have done sleepless nights……days too! Reflux is a little easier to treat then colic. Don’t lay them down flat helps, prop up the top end of their mattress a little

  • When my bub was a newborn he always has reflux, it wasn’t fun, but they get through it

  • Firstly I want to say I feel for you. My second child suffered from colic & for 4 months it was awful. I gave him gripe water but not sure if they sell it these days. Laying bubs on stomach & rubbing back may ease a little.

  • You poor thing I feel for you & the baby.

  • My eldest was projectile vomiting, my middle was bad with wind and reflux and my youngest had reflux too so I know how it feels.

  • I raised her cot and had her on reflux formula which both really helped. My eldest had projectile vomiting lol

  • reflux babies should be on reflux milk as well you can get liquid medication you give them before a feed as well as sleep them with the head end of their cot or bassinet raised and as for colic you can get anti colic bottles as well as teats but burping them well and often through their feed is the key colic is wind sit them up real straight put you hand on their tummy while patting their back or over the shoulder with a little pressure to the tummy while patty their back as well give their tummy as rub at times while you are doing it or just laid across you legs and patted I use to find also at night to give night bottle in the bath just jump in a nice warm bath and feed them and wash and ready for bed but remember to burp burp burp it can take time to get it up

  • No, I feel for you though. Sometimes it can be hard to manage.

  • My friends baby was really bad with reflux, you need you have the baby tested for reflux

  • As someone else has already said go to your gp and get a referral for a sleep doctor they will help loads with it.
My friend went with her son as he was really bad with reflux she got shown ways to help them digest the bottle milk better and ways to put baby down to help with the milk settling.

  • Yes he finally falls asleep for 2 hours at about 5am. I hear him in his sleep gag and he brings up so much. feel so bad for him, Really I thought sleep school was only private. I will look into it,thanks :)

  • No thank god – I feel for you! I am guessing sleep is in very short supply. You can get a referral from your GP to a sleep school to use as a respite to save your sanity! They will look after bub while you get some sleep.

  • Thankfully we don’t have this problem, I hope your baby overcomes this without too much stress on themselves or you

  • My daughter was lucky not to have this, but i know how horrible it can be. I hope it gets better soon
