Hello!

I’m expecting baby number 3 soon and am wondering if all nipple creams/ointments are the same? For the first two I used Lansinoh, and had no issues. It helped sooth the pain and damage, however, this time round I’m wondering what else compares? Can they all be applied prior to feeding or do some only get applied after the feed? My last two were attached to me for up to 8 hours at a time, so I’m after recommendations for something that is good quality, and cheap won’t hurt either!
Thanks

  • Paw Paw cream is really effective and not expensive.

  • lansinoh and nipple butter from Gaia. They worked well for me. Also try using edible pure coconut oil.

  • I know a Mum who was told by a pharmacist that one brand was not suitable to use unless wiped off. It was the brand that had to recommended to her at the hospital. Her nipples bled which she didn’t realise the first time it happened, her baby sucked some of the blood then vomitted up what was probably the whole feed. The baby would stop feeding if the Mum swapped to the other breast, then need the rest of the feed about an hour later.

  • I used paw paw ointment; it worked and was safe for the babies.

  • I used the medela one and that could be used prior to feeding and no wiping necessary.

  • Lansinoh is the BEST!
    Don’t buy anything else!

  • I swear by Lansinlo it’s the only one I have found to work, I tried another one and it didn’t help at all it made it worse. One small tube lasted me and I’m 7 months into breast feeding and I rarely use it anymore

  • Multi mams were good too.

  • Lansinoh was so good! I had 13 blisters at one stage and it healed it so quickly even when I was still feeding.

  • I have good expereince with Lansinoh & Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Nursing Butter

  • I tried a few and Lansinoh is the best. It was also recommended by my doctor and the midwives

  • I tried a few and I found the lanisoh one really to be the best

  • GAIA worked a charm.

  • This oitment is still the best…maybe you can use nipple shields as a protection?

  • I used lasinoh too. It worked brilliantly so never tried others
