Hello!

I already have a child who is 16 months old and am expecting my second in February. I’m concerned with several different things, from my eldest having proper sleeps, to Labor, to being able to cope with so much already at hand. Our parents live away or work full time still so I’m concerned about being able to handle everything as my partner has a job interstate. Is it normal to have concerns about having more children?

  • It is a normal feeling to worry about your children and your circumstances, and I hope all is well with you and your family.

  • Having kids will be the toughest thing you ever attempt so yes, of course it’s normal to have worries about his you’ll cope

  • I see this is an old question and by now you should be well experienced :)

  • Most definitely! As parents, we worry all the time. Hope it all went well for you

  • Totally normal! Don’t stress yourself too much. We all get like that, and when the baby comes, just run with it. You will manage. Good luck

  • Very good comments from the MoMs.

  • Yes, absolutely. Pretty sure we have all been there before.

  • Yes – as mothers that’s what we do – worry!

  • It is good reading the comments and interest to this!

  • I think so. I’m in a similar situation without hubby working interstate.havjng no family support or assistance is huge, some people don’t get it and see their parents weekly or have family dinners, childcare with grandparents etc. I’m due with no 2 soon. I’m sitting in my messy house thinkjng how I’ll get the energy to clean it. Then I think is 2 going to be ‘double trouble? ‘ hope it all went well for you

  • Ofcourse it’s normal, you wouldn’t be a mum if you don’t worry

  • definetley! ive got 2 little boys and they aren’t that close but so much of a handful. can you put your older child in day care 1 day a week? hope everything went well xx

  • Perfectly normal, It would be a worry if you diddnt have concerns! Being concerned simply means you are aware of what a huge responsibility kids are, just how much time and effort is involved and the impact this has upon you. In other words you will be fine! You will learn to prioritize thinks like housework in order of necessity (dirty washing never left home) maybe look at buying a carrier, wrap or sling for bub to free your self a little, dont worry about keeping a tight schedule, Feed, play, sleep is all they really need & remember to look after yourself!

  • Yes I think it is, you could always talk to your dr if it’s making you very anxious though.

  • you will be fine, everything will just fall into place
