Hello!

Hi MoM’s
I’m going to a baby shower and of the month and I wanted to get a basket full of goodies for bub and mum. They love organic items. Beside Gaia products, do you have any other brands or particulat products you would recommend? I’m also thinking getting some baby clothe … Any brands made out of organic bamboo or cotton you would recommend? Thanks :)

  • Ecostore has some fantastic products

  • I don’t think cotton on kids would be organic at all. There is a great facebook group called for the love of Australian handmade. The ladies on here make beautiful clothing, toys, blankets etc and you could request organic fabric. My favourite organic cotton is made by mona luna.

  • Bhumi Organic Cotton. Do organic cotton clothing. I won a set of baby clothes from Mouths of Mum’s and can highly recommend the product on quality and feel.

  • add a few little pamper treats for mum to be as well as baby things, such as shea butter to massage her tummy where bub is residing for now, always good to pamper Mum too. Baby baskets are great way of choosing products and making it up yourself gives personal touch

  • Probably best go to a department store like Myer or even Priceline just to get some ideas as there is always an area just for organics . Sounds really relaxing for the mum and bub . A great idea !

  • Vouchers from shops that sell these type of products is also a good idea with the offer of helping with the shopping. All new mums appreciate help with shopping trips once bub has arrived.

  • Every now and then I order by biome.com.au , they have beautiful products and do also baby clothes and products (all organic). Other website we have tried out are boody.com.au and organicbabe.com.au

  • There are shops called Cotton on Kids. I’m not sure if they have baby clothes or not. May I suggest that you don’t buy the first size clothes for the baby. Some many well meaning people do that. Most babies don’t stay in their first side for long. Very few think about buying a bigger size suitable for a few weeks or later.
A friend of mine who had a baby girl who was tiny. By the time she was 5 months old she was wearing clothes meant for a 8 – 9 month old. The dress I was going to give her for Christmas I gave her when they came to Adelaide for a few days. She grew out of it in less than a month. She is tall for her age.

  • Perhaps some organic cotton baby blankets, sheets, clothes.

  • If the mum is planning on using cloth nappies then you could get some bamboo nappy liners as you always need those. There’s also some zinc based organic baby suncreams that would make a nice gift. I can’t quite recall the name of the one I’m thinking of but it has “innoscents” (correct spelling) in the name.
