Hello!

I am hoping to get some ideas on how to overcome my morning sickness (or at least get some new ideas to try and see if I can help the nausea!) It’s a struggle everyday with simple daily tasks, as well as caring for my toddler. Just wondering if anyone has any different ideas that got them through! Many thanks :-)

  • Restavit is amazing for it.

  • This will sound strange but I can assure you it’s true.
My Mum didn’t suffer with vomitting in the morning – hers was during the night.
She is allergic to more medications than I can remember. I always have to check the list. The Drs. put her on a special low fat etc diet. That didn’t work. She wasd admitted to hospital for treatment on a few occasions. When was 32 weeks one night she decided she wanted something different- she decided if she was going to be sick she wanted to enjoy the meal first. Fish & Chips + a glass of Coke. The first time she didn’t wake up vomitting in the night. After that she had a small glass of coke with Dinner every night ….and no vomitting. The Dr. said Coke wasn’t something he would normally recommend but nothing else worked. Her baby was born at 37 weeks, better than the 1st one at 34 weeks, so tiny she had to stay in hospital for 5 weeks.

  • Dry biscuits and ginger biscuits always helped me.

  • I was so lucky that with both my children never experienced any sickness at all , I cant even remember even mild nausea . However herbal remedies such as ginger, lemon , peppermint found in a lot of teas as well may help you in the mornings. Try those .

  • In the early days, Ginger beer, but later on, very little helped. I read a book which talked about feeding your cravings to settle your stomach, and then when symptoms ease eat the best you can. I alternated between deep fried foods and raw veges! I had a great OB who told me to focus on holding down multivitamins, and to do the best job I could at eating a variety of foods. My symptoms settled at about 4 1/2 to 5 months, and after that I ate really well. There is no cure all answer, be honest with your Dr and don’t try to be a super woman!

  • This is an old post – but for the benefit of anyone else reading this I would suggest a visit to your GP for advice. They were a blessing with being able to manage morning sickness as I needed a lot of medical intervention. See them if in any doubt and reach out for help.

  • If you’ve tried all the usual such as dry toast or biscuits you can ask your doctor for anti nausea medication. I suffered from severe nausea morning noon and night with my first throughout my pregnancy and the medication only worked sometimes. Also if you are having trouble drinking water due to the nausea try using electrolyte. It’s expensive but once you get your fluid up and feel a but better you should be able to hold down tea or small amounts of water at a time.

  • I used to nibble on ginger biscuits and it helped me slightly.

  • wish i know, i suffered so so bad when i was pregnant, i did find room temp water helped me keeps things down easier

  • dry toast and sips of water can help as well as ginger

  • I had boxes of lemongrass and ginger tea bags ready for when I’d wake up feeling horrible.

  • Ginger is great for settling upset tummies, whether it’s “morning sickness” or otherwise. I also found that a combination camomile/peppermint tea settled my tummy. Funny as it may sound, flat lemonade also often works.

  • I dont think there is much of a solution but to deal with it :-(

  • Ginger ale works! If it gets really bad talk to your doctor about anti nausea tablets, they are tiny (great if you’re like me and gag on tablets!) and not harmful to bubs in any way. I also found stretching my arms above my head unclenched my tummy and gave me a few minutes relief from the sick feeling (sounds weird but it worked for me) and sometimes I’ve found you just need to get it up before it goes away!

  • Ginger did amazing things for me from the moment I ate it my nausea would disappear and I was able to eat anything I wanted I believe it got rid of my morning sickness all together as I only are it 3 times then had no need any more as I wasn’t sick anymore
