Hello!

Our last house was infested with cockroaches and ants no matter how hard I scrubbed the house down. We were only living there for 6 months and I didn’t want to pay for an exterminator when I wasn’t going to live there for long. So I moved into my new place and thought I got rid of all the cockroaches but unfortunately we had some that were hiding in our furniture :( they were mainly hiding under our fridge so we bought Mortein and sprayed the kitchen down. Then we had all these cockroaches come out of hiding and they started spreading everywhere away from the Mortein. I’m fed up with seeing them around can anyone recommend a product that works really well at get riding of pests especially cockroaches! Can’t afford a professional at the moment, thanks.

  • I hope you were able to find a solution to this pest problem. How frustrating for you.

  • Have you looked into natural deterrents. There are some good pages on the internet that go through what household products or smells certain insects don’t like.

  • I use the bug bombs. You place and set them off, close up the house and leave it for a couple of hours. Works brilliantly for us

  • I use the home treatment kits from woolworths – a “bomb” per room, leave for a few hours, come home clean up the mess and all good.

  • the bug bombs work well – or ask at somewhere like Bunnings as I often get a lot of advice (free) on different products

  • omg my worst nightmare! I am absolutely terrified of them… I’d be ringing the real estate straight away and if it was my own place i would go without food to do it…. ewww they are gross and need to be fixed ASAP before they become a huge problem.

  • It’s the owner’s responsibility to get that done if you’re renting NOT YOU and the mortein bombs are great, leave the house for a few hours and that should fix the problem.

  • If your in a rental its the landlords expense, just had mine spray the house Inside and out :)

  • I use the bates and they work a treat.

  • Definitely look at the bug bombs! We have used them previously and they worked great, you just let them off in the house and wait a few hours (whilst your not home). I think they are around $15 from hardware store.

  • Put a jar of cucumber peels in a jar overnight. Watch how many you get. You can kill them the next day and refill cucumber

  • My dog is a great cockroach killer. She plays with them for hours. You could borrow her? On a serious note, while you can’t afford an exterminator, try and save up – get them to do inside and out – should be $100-$150. It’ll get them once and for all.
