Hello!

My 23 month old dd has had no nappy on for 2 days except for nap time and night time and yesterday she even sat on the potty by her self and did a poop! Then came running to me saying what she’d done and I was so proud =) What should I do now? Should I continue with no nappy every day? The problem is, is that she goes to daycare 3 days a week. How do they potty train? Will they keep her with no nappy on in the baby room? Is she too young to do that there?

  • Just have a chat to your daycare… They should follow your instructions :-)
Well done for your daughter, that is amazing!!

  • Yup don’t go backwards at childcare. If they worry about accidents you can get her toilet training pants.

  • Keep going with the “no nappy” and although you may have the odd accident, she’ll get there. Encourage & praise her & she’ll continue to do well. Send extra changes of clothes & nappies to day care, and discuss with them what you’d like to happen, and how they can best help.

  • I’ve neen packing lots of undies and changes of clothes and just told childcare to put nappies on for nap time

  • Your daughter is fantastic and so proud of herself. you need to encourage her, daycare should be happy to keep up the good work and you should have few problems. A slip up here and there is nothing, a fresh set of clothes and no fuss. Some kids toilet train so easily as your daughter has, others take much longer. If in doubt, ask her, and be guided by her answer.

  • That’s fantastic. Just let your Childcare know dhes toilet training and send se extra clothes incase of accidents

  • yes no more nappies shes doing great good job

  • Hope you have got your answer!

  • Definitely continue with no nappy!

  • I would go with it, she is obviously showing you she is ready… so go for it.
day care is even better and more consistent then you would be at home too because they have a rutine for all the kids…

  • dont put a nappy on.

  • Definitely keep no nappy!!!!!! Daycare should keep this up. Use to work in daycare and we always love it when kids are training means less nappy changes!

  • Continue with this and only use nappies at nap time. Let the day care know what has happened. Depending on the day care some don’t mind the ‘big kid’ underwear where as others prefer the use of pull up type nappies. I don’t like the pull up nappies and so I am lucky that my day care allows my child to use proper underwear and nappy for nap time. I also use a nappy for long car trips as kids tend to fall asleep in the car.

  • Just call the Daycare and let them know what you have been doing at home and ask them what they suggest.

  • Let the daycare know and tell them that you want her to keep up with the toilet training. They should be able to help do that. Also just pack some nappies in her bag and tell them that she needs one when she naps. The childcare my daughter goes to has a baby changing area together with the toddler room so there’s a toilet in there as well. She also can’t control her bladder when sleeping so she still wears one when she naps, and the people there are happy for her to wear one.
