Hello!

Curious to know everyone’s pregnancy vs birth experience.

For example, I had an easy pregnancy with my first and a complicated birth. This time around I’m having a worse pregnancy and people are saying it means the birth will be easier.

Is that true for you? What was your pregnancy experience versus the type of birth you had?

  • All my births and pregnancies were complicated unfortunately

  • My pregnancy and birth were both fairly good. The usual issues that are uncomfortable at the time with pregnancy, but I still managed to work and study up until my planned 37 weeks. Birth went reasonably smoothly, I wanted to go medication free but couldn’t handle it after 2 days of contractions so ended up having the gas when I got to hospital and that was enough.

  • I had morning sickness with all pregnancies but none could be called difficult. My births were also straight forward, no issues. No two pregnancies, births or experiences are the same

  • No 2 Mums are the same. My Mum was very sick with my brother – vomiting day and night. My Dad had a bowl his side of the bed and knew when she was going to vomit before she woke up properly.
She was rushed to hospital unconscious twice during her pregnancy. She was even put on a special diet to try to lessen the risk of so much vomiting. With both of us she had to have a lot more stitches than normal. It was also suddenly discovered that my Mum was allergic to Penicillin. She had when she had me with no reaction. My brother is younger than me.

  • I had 2 great pregnancies, I had no sickness and felt pretty good and both births were good and managed to go natural and drug free for both. Second bub was a bit different in the at 36wks she kept going between transverse and breech. I got booked in for a c-section and when at the doors ready to go in the for the spinal they did another check and she had turned the correct way so they induced me. Cheeky little girl.

  • I don’t know if I agree with that you can’t really tell how your body will react I guess. I had easy pregnancies but small babies so constant check ups and minor complications because of girls being small and baby #2 I had to be induced for which was horrible and very lengthy but once in labour things went smoothly and quickly. Try not to think about it and just take it as it comes, hope it all goes well

  • Can’t help I have only has the one all the best

  • I had a pretty typical pregnancy and I did have some minor complications during birth, but nothing uncommon. My sister in law had a terrible pregnancy and massive complications during birth so I think it is just an old wives tale.

  • Mediumly difficult pregnancies, and every single birth was traumatic.

  • I had a difficult pregnancy with both my girls.
Due to some complications wirh my 1st they were on high alert with my 2nd.

The delivery was completely different from my 1st and 2nd.

There is no way to predict what the birth will be like.
Try to remain calm and relaxed, it makes the body feel the same which may help.

I hope everything goes really easy for you!

  • Can’t say that there was any difference tbh. But birth was more difficult second time around because I knew what was coming. Recover was better second time around though.

  • I had a horrible 1 1st off great one 2nd time

  • Different for everyone. I guess the birth experience could be different for so many factors such time and place

  • My first pregnancy was great – 16 hours in labour with 2x morphine amd gas.
2nd-i wasnt even feel like i am pragnent at all- 3 hours and just gas.

  • Three difficult pregnancies. 1st stillbirth, but easy delivery, 2nd server morning sickness from start to end but 6hr labour and 3rd server morning sickness, preterm Labor at 34 weeks induction at 38weeks very fast delivery of 1hr no drugs no issues.
