  • yep sure do. As we already had family cover it didnt cost any extra to have them added on and its good for peace of mind.

  • Yes. We added each of our kids as soon as they were born.

  • Yep, as soon as we had the kids, we rang the health insurance company and just added them to our policy. It was important to cover them in case of any problems.

  • If you are already in family cover , just add your baby on as kids are included anyway . Usually they have single, couples or families anyway . I cancelled mine after the birth of my second child , rejoined a couple of years ago and they slugged us with the LHC. Also remember Hospital have a 12 mths waiting list so take care with that part. Do some research with different healthfunds and find one that suits your family . Good luck the whole system is very confusing .

  • I would, I no longer have privet health because besides for pregnancy cover I never used it but if I still did I would add kids on.

  • You need to notify your health insurance that you have had your baby and have name put on your policy. Some hospitals have both public and private patients. With the private system you could have gaps, epsecially for the baby if she/he has to stay longer or have special treatment for any reason.

  • yeah check what your cover includes

  • I’m pretty sure if you have couples cover a baby is automatically included, I would ring to confirm though.

  • I am guessing if you have private its a good idea to put their name on as well. We don\’t have private so we are just public patients

  • No I don’t.

  • Yes, add as soon as you can to ensure cover.

  • You should have your childrens’ names listed.
You have to take out additional health insurance before you plan your pregnancy as there is waiting period. If your baby arrives before that time your baby is not covered.

  • Yes, as soon as our children were born, we contacted our health insurance and had them listed on our policy.

  • Everyone is listed as family health cover is for everyone in the family.
