  • Have you tried coconut oil? I love using it when my skin is a bit dry…

  • Sorbolene is my go-to in winter. It’s inexpensive and it works.

  • Thanks for asking this question – I too suffer from dry skin and am after a solution. I have started using bath/shower oils instead of soap and I know lots of brands that do these oils are expensive but the Aldi one is very reasonable and it seems to be helping but lots of room for improvement

  • Vasline dry skin moisturiser is very good for my dry skin and a great price.

  • Dry skin are caused by many factors and I find these days there are so many budget brands skin creams esp found at Priceline or Chemist warehouse. The only home remedy that I know is some avocado or egg masks you can make yourself and there should be something if you Google online . Also drink lots of water and have plenty of fruits /vegies to prevent dehydration .

  • An elderly Aunty of mine had very dry scaly skin. Her Dr. suggested using sorbelene in the shower instead of other cleansers or soaps. Her skin improved remarkably within a month. Use a soap free product when bathing, showering or washing your hands. Cetaphil is a good one recommended by dermatologists. A lot of soaps that are labelled as having oils in them also have a caustic soda or similar in them which irritates skin for some people. Hamiltons products were recommended by my Mum’s Specialist. A lot of hospitals and aged care facilities use QV products.

  • I suggest seeing a dermatologist, they will be able to find something suitable for your skin that you should be able to purchase on prescription.
Dry skin can be so frustrating!
    Best of luck.

  • our dermatologist says the expensive stuff is all bullshit, and buy a sorbelene/glycerine lotion and whack it on often

  • I have no answer for you, but I suffer the same thing, so the answers have been of help

  • Sorbelene cream is a good moiturising cream that is not pricey.

  • Drink plenty of water, be mindful of extremes in temperature indoors and outdoors. Coconut oil is rich in moisture (and it doesn’t matter if your baby licks your arm, it is digestible).

  • i always buy vaseline when it is on special. shop around otherwise sorbelene is cheap enough

  • Sorbelene cream, can get big bottle for $2

  • coconut oil is really good and is cheap. it comes in a big glass jar for about $8 at the supermarket or chemist and you don’t have to use a lot each time, so it lasts for ages.

  • Try vitamin d cream!
