My partner and I tried for a baby for 18 months. I went to a fertility specialist and was prescribed medication to help conception. I didn’t end up needing to take it because I found out I fell pregnant naturally.
I have extremely irregular periods caused by PCOS. I also have hypothyroidism and coeliac’s disease, all of which can cause infertility.
June (’19) Bub was born and I bled for only 3 weeks (Doctor’s had nothing to say about this)
August (’19) I had a period
April (’20) We decided to start TTC (I hadn’t had a period in 8 months)
June (’20) I fell pregnant
July (’20) I had a miscarriage
August (’20) We started TTC again
It’s now April (’21) 1 year after we started TTC and it’s been 20 months since my last period.
I have been to the GP who told me they can’t do anything about encouraging a period. I have been told to not use the ovulation sticks to find when I could be ovulating because they wont ever be an accurate reading for me.
The last few months I have been extremely bloated, my stomach fluctuates from soft to hard every few hours, recently I have been getting stabbing pains that wrap around from my back to my abdomen and then make their way down to my groin which causes me to not be able to move or walk. Still getting negative pregnancy tests.
Should I ask to see the infertility specialist again or try and convince them again to do an ultrasound on my stomach to make sure none of the cysts on my ovaries are rupturing?
