Hello!

I’d love some recommendations on a well priced, quality tablet to suit a 7 year old for limited use.

  • I just got a Samsung tablet a 10.1 inch from big w for $299. It has a kids mode that you can enable and limits the apps the kids can use as well as limit the time allowed on the tablet for week days and weekends.
Kids mode also is supposed to block in app purchases.
The Google play store has a a good variety of free educational and fun apps to choos from.

  • A HTC Nexus 9 is a really good tablet for school and play. Has everything you need. But I highly suggest a screen protector and heavy duty hard case. You cannot get away without those, otherwise be a hefty price in repairs.

  • I’d probably ask someone at say Officeworks. They seem to know their stuff.

  • Whatever tablet you go with – I would suggest a protective case for it – some are quite tough.

  • I wouldn’t recommend one for a child so young, but realise that some schools insist on them now. It all depends on what you want the pad to be doing. Just check out online and if you find one you think is ok, head instore for a physical check out

  • I would go with one that is sturdy and would actually search online and then go into the store and test with your child. There are always demo models.

  • LOL none.
