Hello!

Hi ladies- I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this. I’m 6 days late for my period. My baby had just turned 5 1/2 months. It took me 2 years to fall pregnant with him with the help of clomid and usually my periods are pretty regular. I have PCOS and had to take progesterone pessieries with my son as we were close to losing him. My hormones are pretty screwed. I went straight back on clomid after my first period after having bub. We would love to have another one soon and I don’t want to get too excited about possibly being pregnant again. I have taken several home pregnancy tests all negative. Should I wait before going to doc to get a blood test? If I am pregnant I need to get on top of my progesterone levels ASAP otherwise I could possibly miscarry. I don’t want to stress about it but I wouldn’t mind advice on others experiences with the home pregnancy tests and how late is to late to keep testing. Thanks.

  • They depend on your HCG levels so would definitely be getting a blood test if you think you could be pregnant

  • They’re usually pretty accurate, but your hormone situation could well be screwing it up. Definitely go for a blood test.

  • They are reliable, but I still went to the gp to be certain.

  • Go to the Doctor to put your mind at ease. The Doctor will understand you given your history

  • Go to your dr!! They are reliable but it depends on how much hormone HGC your body gives off that early. Goodluck I hope everything works m out for you!

  • I agree with Mom156049. Although I’ve just noticed this question was posted some time ago, so I hope all is well.

  • Home tests are the same as doctors tests these days. The doctor can organise a blood test but I’d wait another week at least to ensure you get a pregnancy hormone reading if you are actually pregnant

  • Home pregnancy tests are as good as Dr tests nowadays. In your condition tho, I would suggest a Dr visit asap

  • Go to the doctor, get a blood test and be sure. The stress of waiting is never good on the body

  • Doctors never fail!!

  • I’d go to the gp and get a blood test. Only accurate way this early on.

  • If it is urgent medically to find out then the best thing to do in your situation is to go straight to the doctors for a blood test.

  • I think they are pretty reliable. If your unsure take a second test to confirm. The doctors results are more reliable though

  • there are some good comments here

  • maybe test and see :)
