Hello!

Remedies for constipation? – I have been feeling quite constipated of late & I am eating prunes & having a glass of freshly squeezed fruits in the morning but would like to know if any mums know of any other foods that could assist me with this problem?

  • Pears are good too or maybe try a something like metamucil.
Oh and maybe use the whole fruit instead of just the juice as its the fibre that helps. I love my nutri ninja for this.

  • Eating a bowl of processed bran with milk helps me.

  • Hope you are feeling better.
Hopefully will use these tips as i have the same trouble every day.
    Its terrible and so uncomfortable.

  • Prunes and water sounds good; also lots of walking assists with constipation.

  • what about msa or chia it is a health food, grains.

  • Eat loads of greens, all fruit except bananas. Lots of water. Musli or porridge.

  • Benefibre or metimutical will help. They are both natural & were recommended by my ob when pregnant. Epsom salts can help as well, but i don’t think you can use if pregnant.

  • yoga, lots and lots of fruit and water and if you can without feeling disgusting and guilty (which i do but this really works becasue its crap…excuse the pun) but eat Hungry Jacks or Macdonalds

  • First double your water intake. I’m with whole fruits over juices. You can buy coloxyl and senna from the supermarket or chemist. These help direct more water to your bowel to soften the stool. Move more, gentle stretching and if you rub your abdomen start at the right hip, up to right ribs, across then down to left hip, this is the direction of your bowel. May everything come out soon for you.

  • My son has it really bad, he had to go into hospital and they hv him taking osmolax everyday and that is helping. It is easy on your stomach and doesn’t hurt you. it doesn’t really have a taste

  • pear juice

  • Take 2 magnesium tablets before bed. You should go in the morning. And lots more water.

  • Yoghurt is always good for sorting out the bacteria in the bowel.

Beetroot juice seems to work a treat also but dont freak out as the colour goes straight through you :)

  • cut out everything processed (grains, sugar, packaged foods) stick to whole foods drink plenty of water and you will find your body will naturally be healthier in so many ways, you will have more energy and a healthy gut. Also add a really good pro-biotic to help the gut with good bacteria.

  • Have you tried a pregnancy test? I was constipated for the first few weeks will pregnant with both my kids
