Hello!

I have moved into a house with a stove top but no oven (long story, due to be sorted). I love and miss baking cakes and biscuits. Does anyone have any recipes that require no oven?

  • there are heaps on this website, and some awesome microwave cookbooks out there. Go to taste.com.au, bestrecipes.com.au, sbs food website, and delicious mag website

  • Wholefoodsimply is indeed a wonderful website!!

  • Bliss balls are a good option and there are lots of flavour combinations out there to try. These are a favourite of ours, and Bianca’s website has lots of ‘no bake’ ideas. https://wholefoodsimply.com/ginger-balls/

  • Grab yourself one of those little glass induction ovens that sit on your bench top. They’re not huge, but you can cook up a bit. I love mine so handy when there’s only one or two of you for tea

  • I can’t take any credit for the ideas, but the blog bake, play, smile has a whole collection of no bake slices. http://www.bakeplaysmile.com/easy-no-bake-bars-slices/
I’ve made quite a few of these and they’ve been delicious.

  • Yes, I have a convection microwave but I prefer to cook my cakes in the oven as I like the texture and firmness that a microwave isn’t able to give.

  • do you have a microwave as there are lots of recipes for microwave cakes.

  • try the no bake cheesecake recipes. i used to make these while learning to cook

  • I made this recipe from here on MoM’s recently. While mine didn’t look quite like the photo, my kids loved them and they were easy and tasty. There are other ‘no bake’ recipes in the recipes here too. https://mouthsofmums.com.au/recipe/no-bake-granola-bars/

1 packet Arnott’s butternut snap biscuits
    1 tin condensed milk
    1 tablespoon golden syrup
    1/2 cup melted butter
    1 block {around 200g of hazelnut chocolate

    METHOD

In a blender, crush the biscuits until nice and fine. Place into a bowl and mix together with all the other ingredients, except the hazelnut chocolate.
Prepare a tin by lining it with baking paper. Press the mixture into the tin and place it into the fridge.
Melt the chocolate and pour over slice. Place back in fridge to set. If you like lots of chocolate, melt two blocks to put on top. Remove from fridge for a few minutes before cutting.
