Hello!

My daughters school uniform has stains all over them, from her shirts to her summer dresses to her sports uniform. Even after i wash them they still look dirty. I’ve tried Vanish (paste and in wash), Sard, lemon and bicarb, vinegar and bicarb, but nothing removes these all stubborn stains, that are texta, paint, etc Any helpful advice would be muchly appreciated. Thank you!!!

  • Once you’ve washed it in the washing machine the chances you’re able to remove it are reducing. So best when you see a new stain direcly treat it. Personally I prefeer to scrub stains with piping hot water and the old fashioned block of sunlight soap

  • They will grow out of it soon enough and you’ll need new. I wouldn’t worry about items being in pristine condition. They are kids learning and so much is more important. just make sure the clothes are clean, wash as normal etc. and you can’t go wrong. No one will complain. If the school want better then perhaps they should consider more close supervision to make sure kids don’t spoil their clothing in class.

  • Also; good luck with trying to budge the stains! :)

  • Soakers work well in this household for removing stains. It might be time to get some advice/tips from a dry cleaner about stain removal.

  • Really depends on the stain. I have heard rubbing alcohol and dishwashing detergent can be used as a spot removal.

  • Basic clothes soap bar (woolies) rub on the stain, machine wash with stain remover on the soap and then a couple of Days under the sun and night (leave it all night outside as well)

  • I heard of hairspray might work.

  • At this point you may have set the stains irrevocably. Maybe ask a dry cleaner for advice? Some can be helpful.

  • I’m following this as I have the same question!
