Small amounts of hair dye can get on your skin during a treatment. Although dye may come into contact with your forehead or scalp, only a small amount of the chemical is actually absorbed into your skin. It’s a small amount, so the chemical is unlikely to have any harmful effect on your baby’s developing body.
To be on the safe side you could choose a natural hair dye (like henna for example)
The general consensus is that you aren’t supposed to get your hair dyed while pregnant as they are unsure of the affects that the chemicals may have on a foetus. That being said, I had a shock discovery when I was pregnant with my second (I had several failed pregnancy tests and only just found out the same day of my hair appointment) and had my hair dyed and it didn’t seem to have any negative affect. In all honesty if you get it done as a one off and are not constantly being exposed to chemicals, I’m sure it’s fine. I’ve seen plenty of hairdressers working who are pregnant and they are being exposed to the chemicals just as much as you are and on a daily basis.
I remember reading once that a clue Princess Kate was pregnant was the fact she was avoiding colouring her hair. So I assume it’s not good during pregnancy
