Hello!

How to sooth sore nipples? I’m a new mother – my baby is 3 weeks old. Both my nipples are sore from his constant sucking, I’m having difficulty feeding him. What should I do to get rid of the sores? Please help with advice

  • I really like the GAIA nappies balm. I also found regular showers helped too.

  • Breast milk and fresh air!

  • My little one is 4 days today and my nipples have blisters on them, that I actually burst into tears when feeding it hurts so bad! My midwife suggested Lansinoh cream I’ve been using buts it’s not seeming to help :( I can’t wait to try the other suggestions on this forum as it’s getting really hard to handle and I don’t want to give up breast feeding!

  • Nipple cream is good

  • I hope you found a solution. I used Lansinoh. Early on i also put water into a clean new born nappy and froze it them sat them around my breasts and found it helped with the discomfort

  • there are some good comments here

  • what did you end up using

  • Udder cream, I kid you not from Moo Goo, it is a wonder ointment!

  • Buy some Benpathen from the chemist it is safe to use with bub as you dont need to wash off and can use for nappy rash also. … In the meantime if you have blood you need to express.

  • Some really good answers below.

  • i hope all is well

  • The hydragel discs are great but if you have sores best to check with the doctors are they can prescribe some cream which will quickly clear up the sores and it won’t be so sore

  • Has any of the advice helped?

  • I cant recommend the rite aid hydrogel breast discs enough! they are the best invention ever! If they are cracked and sore as well I would recommend letting it all hang out in the air (lol just sitting around with no top on) as it helps heal them much quicker than slopping lansinoh all over them

  • What have you done so far?
