Hello!

My father in law would like to get a ‘special’ gift for my 4 and 5 year old. We have a very small house and courtyard. The kids room is overflowing with toys. They already have bikes and scooters and don’t link experiences to the gift giver, so it needs to be a tangible gift. What can I suggest for him to get? Thanks

  • Is there a useful gift that fits in your small house / courtyard ? For example a special bed with hidden space or a personalised cupboard for all the toys ?

  • I don’t have a boy but how about skateboards or rollerblades? I know i gave a 5 year old rollerblades on his bday last year, along with the appropriate protective gear of course, and he loved it

  • Perhaps cars, transformas!

  • We bought a necklace and pendant for my daughter for her first Christmas. It will be something that she can wear as a little girl (on special occasions only) but it will also be something she’ll be able to wear as an adult.

I wouldn’t really know what to get a little boy but I love the idea of ‘Totem Tennis’ but is it ‘special’ enough? Maybe a special photograph of grandpa with the kids framed or block mounted – it will definitely be something they’ll treasure when they’re older and even now it will be something they can look at and think of him.

    Good luck with your search!

  • there are some good comments here

  • what did you end up getting for them?

  • sand box, portable dvd player, cd player with some cds, leap frog

  • Did you decide on what gift for him to give?

  • An ipad would be great for her

  • Totem tennis? I’ve actually thought about getting one for my two so they can hit it around in the back yard.

  • boys or girls? if girls a piece of jewellery is great. my girls both got bracelets from my mum for their first Christmas and have worn them for 2 and 4 years. my 4yo also was given a necklace for her birthday so I know she is ok with those too.

for boys I have no idea sorry. lol, my only boy is only 6 months old!
