Hello!

We have a problem with birds and their constant poo on my front porch and entrance. We have to use high pressure spray to remove all the poo every couple of days. Nothing is working, have tried rubber snakes, owl, flashing cd, noise even my cats dont frighten them away. It looks terrible with anyone coming to the door and also can get walked inside. GROSS!

  • We have a similar issue with a little blue bird that just loves his own reflection. He bounces up and down our bedroom window, the bathroom window and worst of all is the side view mirrors on the car. We have tried all sorts, all fails. I look forward to trying some of these suggestions tho

  • Some great suggestions ! I feel your pain, birds can be a pest

  • Thanks for asking this question and for the suggestions of owls; very clever. Will use this as we have a similar problem.

  • Great question we have the same problem with swallows, might give the cat statue a go

  • are they different types of birds or the same variety? maybe there is something specific for each variety of bird… generally we used cayenne pepper and that stopped them nesting in our roller doors so might work on your porch. You can just sprinkle if it is under cover or make a spray by mixing with water.

  • i was going to suggest a water pistol

  • Try putting a bird box and food container somewhere in your yard a little away from the porch that way they might hang out there instead.

  • there are some good comments here

  • I was going to say get a cat or a dog but you have cats! We had a big problem with noisy Mynor birds until we got rid of our bottlebrush tree.

  • The birds maybe need water and foods , try put a bowl of water and some bread in the grass.

  • I hope you find something that works

  • Similar to you, i tried everything. The I printed 2 large pictures of owls , stuck them to the window and it seems to work like a treat- i dont know why?

  • Feeling the bird hate at the moment…thinking of getting a pet falcon to keep them off out trampoline!

  • Bunnings and other places sell a cat statue with special things in their eyes to deter birds away. We had one before and it was great at keeping them away.

  • What kind of birds are they ? Why not just enjoy the birds? Have they made a nest under the eaves ? If they have then once the chicks have flown remove the nest. Sure bird poo is annoying but they don’t roost all year round. get an outside mat and put where they poo as that may be easier to hose off.Otherwise wind-chimes work.
