  • Check to see if you have an eating disorder, or something like ADHD or ASD can that make you hyperfixate on food and the sensory experience.

  • Don’t be too hard on yourself. Just do your best, a little each day until you form healthier habits.

  • I think you need to eat something filling like a boiled egg, or a piece of toast with peanut butter, or a small bowl of museli. These things will keep you fuller for longer, and if you do still feel hungry, drink a glass of water and find something to keep you busy and your mind off food. I hope these tips help.

  • I would say not to have snack foods in the house, just healthy fresh food and vegetables.

  • We prefer “clean” cupboards, no junk, no sugar. But at the same time we have a royal amount of beautiful good foods. I bake a lot and make healthy treats all the time.

  • I so needed to see this. I am a binge eater, eat when I get bored, emotional eater. Every excuse! Some really great advice here.

  • Teas are good! They can stop you from being hungry, but I would talk to your gp as well

  • Don’t put in your head you can never eat it again because you can. Start slow and if chocolate is your bad food you love have 1 little piece a day. It’s ok to eat in small portions. Going cold turkey never works for me, I do the same with the binge eating

  • Make a meal plan and stick to it best you can – pre cook up meals and freeze them so you know you have those to eat and don’t keep any crap in the house!

  • try not to buy really unhealthy foods in the first place, so that when you get the urge to binge, those unhealthy snacks won’t be there. Give yourself a break sometimes and allow yourself a treat. I find that dried apricots are really good when you feel like something sweet, grab a small handful and add some nuts. Dark chocolate is great. Lots of water will help keep your stomach from tricking you into eating. when you get the urge to binge, maybe have a photo of something inspirational to you on hand to look at and remind you of your goals and keep you on track. good luck.

  • drink water when you feel like this, and fill yourself up on it before you eat eanything

  • Wherever you go, in the house or out of the house, always carry a water bottle with you, and if you feel like eating something between meals, have a big swig of water. Another tip my doctor gave me when I was trying to give up smoking at the same time as I wanted to lose weight, was every time I craved eating something or binging, to do something to occupy my mind and hands for at least 5 minutes, and often I found the desire to eat had gone away. And if it hadn’t, I spent another 5 minutes distracting myself, until before I knew it, an hour or more had gone by, I hadn’t snacked, and I felt quite proud of myself. And for those times when I was home & temptation got the better of me, I always had a container of Pupkin & Peanut Pate in the fridge with some vegie pieces to snack on.

https://mouthsofmums.com.au/?s=pumpkin+and+peanut+pate (you can make it much healthier, by not adding the oil & peanut butter & only using a few peanuts). Good luck!

  • Write yourself up a weekly planner of your meals. And most of all stick to the plan and you will achieve you goal :-)

  • Don’t let yourself feel deprived, if you do you will binge. Can you try preparing for a binge by putting a small portion of whatever you binge on in a small container and then taking it out of the house to eat, so you can’t go back for more? Hope this helps.

  • Ok so had this problem as well, I loved food and lots of sugar. So i have cut out all those sugary sweets and snacks and now I no longer binge. Make sure you get up and have a great low fat breakfast. I am eating a muesli that is fruit free and cleanses your liver. Just remember you can eat but nothing that is sugar and it works. Sugar can make your liver fatty as well as alcohol and if this happens you will have trouble losing weight as your liver is not working properly. It is working for me.
