They say 6 months. I tried but I couldn’t handle that sad cry knowing that she wanted her mummy so she sleeps in our bed now and it works for us. Everyone is happy and well rested of course it dosent work for everyone so you need to do what’s right for you. My family care nurse said you can do controlled crying from 6 months and I think that’s what they teach at sleep schools also. I know of mums that have done it from 3 months and it’s worked for them also but most feel they are too young at that age.
Whilst I am not keen on this method I think a quick google search will give you lots of information on the technique and appropriate ages to start trying it.
Everyone is different.. Personally if I know my child isn’t hungry, has just been changed, and isn’t hurting. Then let them cry. They have to learn to settle themselves
