I am after some good websites for recipes on a very tight budget.

  • Recipetineats.com has great simple recipes on a budget


  • MOCK FISH: Grate potato.Squeeze out the extra water if any. ( (I like the red skins.. not squeezing and good crisp). Mix in a whole egg (one for each med/large potato) and a pinch of salt. Fry until golden (preferably in an old that takes a really hot heat, like peanut or macadamia or rice bran). I flatten them with the spatula so they are thin and cook right through. Serve with a green salad and it is a perfect meal that kids love.
    NB: You can add zucchini etc but will not get them as crispy. Still good though.

  • Many of the recipes on this site are cost effective and can also be modified with cheaper cuts of meat.
    Four ingredient recipes are good on the budget and cost effective too.


  • taste.com.au has some very good recipes. You can substitute brands of products if you wish to.
    Some recipes tend to use soy products but you can easily substitute them for dairy if you prefer to and would make them cheaper..
