Hello!

I have a 3.5 month old who is teething (they are just going up and down with a bit of swelling)
Poor thing is screaming, sometimes for hours, no matter what I try. Only Bonjella and cold dummy is working for about 5 minutes and then poor thing is upset again.
Dr said no ear, nose or throat issues.

She wont take a teether and i can’t seem to get her comfortable.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can try and help her through this?

  • Try a frozen flannel (not with water) just put the actual cloth in the freezer. Also breastmilk ice cubes in a mesh food holder, gives bubs a treat and helps the gums!

  • Nurofen can cause stomach irritation so may not be safe for a lot of people from baby age upwards.
Have you asked a pharmacist for recommendations? They do years of university, just not as many as GPs. Some have more knowledge of suitable products than Doctors etc do.

  • Panadol and bonjela was my savouir

  • Cold towel from the freezer or freeze some veggies

  • There are 2 things that helped my little one. First was a munch mit, u can get them at big w now and she would chew on the for relief and second is wetting a face wash a putting it flat in the freezer, once frozen take out and twist the corners for bub to chew and suck. So nice and cold for relief. Goodluck

  • Panadol and lots of comfort and cuddles. If your breastfeeding, comfort feeding is good too and not to mention heaps of patience, you’ll get through it in no time. try going out for walks and doing activities to distract her and tire her out a little bit, I find that when I distract my son he’s more manageable.

  • Panadol or nurofen.

Someone mentioned honey-dont give baby honey!!!

  • I have tried Panadol and Nurofen. The cold from the medicine helps her mouth but then the poor chick still cries. I’ve tried rocking, driving, cuddles, different teethers, they only work for a few minutes while cold. I let her gnaw on anything (thats safe)

  • Try Dymadon (my sons prefer the taste of this to Panadol). Also try wetting a face towel and put it in the freezer for 5-10 mins and allow bubs to suck on it.

  • Try bonjela or honey it is very usefull

  • I know many don’t believe in it but amber necklace has been my saviour along with Brauer baby and child teething syrup since we tried avoiding Panadol

  • Have you tried panadol or Nurofen- both safe at this age? Or weleda teething powder? Sometimes extra cuddles are just needed at this time.

  • Panadol sounds like

  • I used to give Panadol and Nurofen to my daughter when she started teething and that seemed to work well for her. I would just start with Panadol first and see if that helps, if not, bring out the big guns and use Nurofen. Good luck!
