Hello!

I regularly suffer from headaches which sometimes turn into migraines and can last up to four days. Do any mums have tips on how to live with these debilitating headaches? Thanks

  • See if there is an underling cause, like heamaplegic migraines

  • I suffer from chronic migraines getting average 4 a week, super horrible especially with a new bub! We’ve never been able to find the root cause only been able to put bandaid solutions. What’s helped though is clean diet, lots of water, steamy shower, sunshine, 2 aspirin and Panadol at same time, naproxen, imigran Nadal spray, lots of sleep. Hope it helps.

  • I have a lot of sympathy for people who suffer from migraines because even a headache is awful. I hope you find a remedy that works.

  • Try a clean diet no processed limited dairy limited wheat and gluten and see if it helps

  • visit your GP to look for the cause. Aspirin is great, nurafen zavance is also good. Hot as you can handle shower, lots of water and even gatorade is something that helps. Chiropractor, acupuncture, reiki or relaxation massage help as well

  • seek help – there could be a bone out in your spine, you could have a food allergy, or it could be stress, or something more serious… Always seek medical advice, and good luck to you love!

  • The only thing that’s works for me is aspirin with codepane it’s available over the Counter if you explain your problem! Works so well!

  • I suffer from really bad cluster headaches and for a few days or even weeks ill have them. Try to keep drinking water regularly, put a frozen facewasher in the freezer. As soon as you feel it coming on get a glass of water, the facewasher and go lay down in a dark room if possible. Put the facewasher over the area of headache and keep drinking the water. A shower also helps with the hot water over your body as it relaxs the muscles in your shoulders/neck which may be the cause of them. Theres a powder (which makes up a drink) you can get from the chemists which helps with this as well.

  • I occasionally get migranes and the trigger for me is if i haven’t eaten enough during the day. But with your’s lasting 4 days i’d be making a trip to the doctors but maybe also write a diary of things you’re doing during the day and what you’ve eaten maybe you’ll find a pattern.

  • I would be making a visit to my local GP hope you are feeling better soon

  • great suggestions as usual from moms .. make sure you see your GP and Optometrist for a full check up
AND my tip try and reduce your sugar intake.
    Best of Luck :-)

  • Have you looked at your lifestyle in general?

  • Try getting your eyes checked as a friend of mine has an eye condition which causes her to have a aversion to bright light. She has debilitating headaches all week and has to stay indoors on a weekend to avoid bright lights.

  • I’m sorry to read this as they are awful. Please make sure you see your doctor and get your blood pressure checked and discuss other things that could be causing them (I get neck pain that leads to horrible headaches). With migraines, I find if I get in early enough – when it first starts – I can limit the severity of them. Nurofen works better than Panadol for me, but again, check with your doctor what is best for you. I also find putting my feet in warm to hot water with a cold pack on my head or the back of my neck for 10-15 minutes can work by moving the blood away from the head to the feet and giving relief. Good luck.

  • Also; look at triggers and try to avoid/eliminate them if possible.
