Hello!

I want to visit my sister this weekend who is in the Brisbane area, close to Chermside. We are looking for something to do with my 3 yr old  that won’t cost us an arm & a leg to do. We are looking at doing something during the day from about 10 – 2pm. Does anyone know of something interesting happening in the area?

  • There are lots of free water parks in Brisbane

  • botanical gardens. There are also loads of walks near Chermside – e.g go to mount nebo for a picnic. Or go to the beach – Redcliffe.

  • Thank you for your suggestions. This didn’t get posted until after I had already been but will consider these things next time we visit the area.

  • I think Southbank has a kids water area that’s free

  • I definitely recommend following Brisbane Kids on Facebook. They list parks, events, shows. Very worthwhile!

  • Parks. There’s heaps of family websites for Brisbane. And parks over the Northside are pretty good. Good Luck.

  • Hi you might like to have a look at brisbane kids.com.au – it has an interactive calendar of events so you just need to select the appropriate dates and all child friendly activities across Brisbane will be displayed. There are always child friendly and free activities at the South Bank precinct and GOMA has Journey to Fantastic Lands on right now which is free and looks like fun. Just be aware that with the G20 on this weekend getting around could be a bit trickier than usual.
