  • One of my friends sold their house and travels Australia with a 4wheel drive & caravan (which is in a way a tiny house too) for over a year now – together with her husband and 3 children which they home school during this time (plenty to learn on their way)

  • I think they are cute but I couldn’t live in one, it would feel too claustrophobic for me.

  • My 16yr daughter dreams of building one :)

  • I love watching the show that build tiny houses but I wouldn’t be able to part with all of my ‘clutter’. A fantastic way though to live clutter free, less cleaning, cheaper, etc.

  • I wish, don’t they look fabulous?! I would need a serious declutter though and I’m hopeless at that. It would no doubt require a certain level of discipline to keep neat and tidy too. You definitely need to put things away after every use, there’s just no room for mess

  • No but I have researched them ALOT! I love them but no way would I get my husband into one. I often wonder if we will see their popularity rise in Australia and the storage methods give me so many ideas for my own home.

  • I don’t have one, but am so fascinated by them. I loved watching tiny luxury, tiny house hunters etc. I love how absolutely creative and clever they get with storage ideas. Would love to own one one day or even just look at one in person

  • I know a family who built one as a rumpus room with a toilet and shower as they were planning to put small pools in and sand pits for the kids to play in and didn’t want chlorinated water, sand and bits of grass through the house. They also put a sink in it to wash glasses etc used during parties. The main section later had some partitions put in so they had somewhere for country visitors to stay overnight

  • Have seen lots of programs about them on the tv and they would be a good source of getting ideas of what you might want in one.

  • We used to live in a tiny apartment before I got pregnant and we basically stored everything in those Ikea stacking cubes which worked wonders!
I guess I could have taken the minimalist approach but I’m such a hoarder.

  • Nope. They’re cute, but we wouldn’t fit.

  • We are thinking of getting one for our oldest son. As he will always be living at home and a tiny house is movable, we are thinking he could have one and then be able to move it to one of his brothers place if needed. We do not need a permit here for one as long as it is family living in it. A granny flat needs permits and it is permanent.

  • No, love to give it a go but think I’d go crazy with 2 kids!
    Less mess though :)

  • No but I am saving up for one because I cannot see myself getting a mortgage and spending the rest of my life paying it off. I watch all the TV shows on tinyhouses and look them up online, you will find heaps of videos and information most coming from the USA but it is growing in australia too.

  • No, but I guess if you live anywhere in the suburbs you may need council approval for one.
