Hello!

We are planning to visit the theme parks next month and I am dreading it! Does anyone have any tips or great ‘plans of attack’ on how to tackle/survive them with 3 kids (6,8,11)? Would love some advice on this one! Do you have any tips for families at theme parks?

  • If you’re dreading it, why are you planning on doing it? There are lots of other activities you could take your kids to do. If you ended up going, my suggestion would be writing your contact number somewhere on your kids in permanent marker, lots of sunblock

  • I think you can buy food vouchers? bring own snacks and drinks! take deep breaths and enjoy

  • I would take some recent photos if your kids. Write your contact number in permanent marker on their body somewhere. And make a note if what they wear each day. Just in case you lose them, these are good tips for that

  • Just make one person boss & everyone is to follow the boss ,so you don’t have arguments & children running off.

  • check the queue system as some you can take a ticket and get a time and then go and do rides and come back at allocated times. also eat lunch early before the crowds.

  • Thank you for all the tips they where very handy as we headed off the the theme park

  • Pack your own lunch and water, spare clothes for the kids, arrive right as they open to get in a few rides before the crowds build, avoid peak seasons and school holidays, and park as close to the entrance as possible because by the end of the day younger kids will be exhausted (& so will the parents)

  • Most used to allow you to bring your own food in (not sure if that’s still the case), will save you heaps if you can, get a locker, a park map and work out what you want to see and by pass the rest, some have different events on at certain times, take plenty of breaks – sit down and have a cuppa, give the kids cool drinks often, toilet stops before heading off to your attractions, don’t forget your camera, sunscreen etc.. we used to have one of those little wrist things for DD with her name, our name and our mobile phone number written inside it just in case she got lost, she knew that she had to show it to an adult and get them to call us if that ever happened.

  • there are some good comments here

  • i am sure you guys had fun at the end!

  • Hope some of the advice below helped.

  • Back packs with supplies: hats, sunscreen, change of clothes, vodka (for you). Have fun :)

  • I hope all went well for you.

  • How did you go at the theme parks?

  • Take a change of clothes as you can become very wet, or just dry off in the sun
