We bought storage cabinets that match our furniture, they have books and puzzles and other little toys in them. I put a picture or paintings on top of them and a vase of flowers or other decor. We also have 3 toy baskets. 1 in the play room, 1 in the living room and 1 in the bedroom. But we are planning on getting storage draws from Ikea because we keep accumulating more even though I pack toys away every month.
Again – storage! Use storage boxes which you can get cheap from lots of places and or a bookshelf up against one wall. Have a table and chairs or easel at other end and maybe a rug – train tracks or road? Kids can go nuts and storage boxes make easy to pack all away
Less is more in this case kids get overwhelmed in tight spaces ie rooms. Nothing wrong with a table and chairs in one corner a toy box in the other and a play mat in the middle.
