Hello!

After having bubs I’m not very happy with my clothes, mostly because they either don’t fit, or I don’t like them. So I was wondering what other mums have done with their wardrobe? Do you still have clothes from before bubs or did you donate them and start fresh?

  • I never gained too much weight and bounced back to my pre pregnancy weight quite quick. I still wear clothes from 20yrs ago and some are even older. I go yearly through my cupboard to look what I want to keep and what I want to bring to the opp shop. I also like to buy some new items each year.

  • I ended up with 4 pairs of black pants and 4 tops – all the same style just different colours. All darker colours so the vomit didn’t show up too badly, and all machine washable…..

  • I am keeping everything as a motivation to loose the pregnancy weight. I don’t feel to buy any clothes at the moment as it doesn’t make me feel good buying such a bigger size than my usual one, not good for my ego…
I have done the same with my previous pregnancy and most of my clothes were fitting again after few months, I really hope it will happen again this time.
    Good luck!

  • I kept the few that still fit, with one or two items that are a bit small that I loved as motivation. But I donated the ones that were too small and in good nick and chucked the rest

  • I still have my wardrobe as I fit in most of it again, but I have lots of loose t-shirts and shirts, my jeans are a little snug though… Maybe time to spoil ourselves and update! :-)

  • I still kept some of my clothes in hope I’ll fit back into them lol. Like jeans, black pants etc, stuff you will need anyway but I bought quite a few maxi dresses because they are so comfty to wear out and so easy. Definitely buy fresh underwear though. :-P

  • I actually fitted into mine thank goodness, but a year later was a bit larger, and purchased new clothes and donated mine

  • Don’t get rid of everything straight away. If you have space leave it for a while because you will find what you like to wear will be a bit of a roller coaster.

  • I actually lost a lot of weight after my second baby so nothing fit anymore. I slowly bought new clothes over time and just made do with most of what i had until i had a big enough collection of new clothes then i donated the old ones to the op shop :)

  • I gave gone through a complete wardrobe make over and have changed my style and bought new clothes!!

  • While I went back to my old size after my pregnancies, I found that I just wanted some fresh wardrobe items as it seemed I hadn’t worn nice clothes in so long. What I no longer wanted I donated to the local op shop.

  • I haven’t got to that stage yet – still pregnant – but have a feeling that some clothes just won’t fit the same / I won’t feel comfortable in them so some will go and I’ll buy some new ones but I’m sure there will be others that I’ll get back in to :-) Take it as it comes but give yourself plenty of time before donating – perhaps pack them away and get them out again in 6-12 months post baby and see how you feel

  • I was fortunate that I went back to my old size after the kids , so I donated some and bought some new ones . It is really like a spring clean and if you don’t like them , you won’t feel good anyway . Happy shopping .

  • I found it took me 6-12 months after each child (longer for kids 3 and 4) before I was able to comfortably fit my old clothes! And by then it was like having a whole new wardrobe! I’d suggest investing in a few loose, easy wash, pieces, but not decide what to do for at least six months.

  • i started a fresh wordrobe, nothing in mine fitted. Although i did keep my marernity clothes aside in case i was to get pregnant again in the hope i could use them again. I found a lot of my old clothes just didnt do up and even though i tried to loose a little weight it didnt happen. I say love the new body and spoil yourselh with what clothes you can. Go on you deerve it you made a life a enjoy it..
