Hello!

My 7 year old daughter has been complaining of a sore throat… Any suggestions on some natural remedies ? Thanks x

  • Personally I prefer to use raw honey or Manuka honey, but you may find some more helpful tips here:

  • I use lemon and honey in warm milk , or just a tea spoon of straight honey ! Usually the natural honey if you can get it :)

  • Honey and lemon in hot water, wait til it cools before drinking. Gargling salt water regularly. I also like the antibacterial strepsils

  • Gargling with either water or salt water might soothe her throat.

  • Steam! It works wonders. Obviously you’ll need to supervise over a bowl of warm to hot water (or I use my facial steamer with my daughter and just stay with here while she’s doing it). I can get to all those places at the back of the nose and throat that can cause the soreness. gargling with warm salty water also helps.

  • Ginger is wonderful for a sore thoart.

  • Honey is great. Particularly Manuka. Strepsils with anaesthetic works well too

  • Gargle salt water. This can help!

  • Gargle warm salt water, also drink some warms after mix with honey and lemon.

  • I hope your daughters throat is better by now. As long as her glands were not up and she only had a sore throat – not a bacterial infection. Honey and hot water with lemon juice helps, tea spoon of honey, juice of 1/2 lemon and 1/2 cup of boiling water cooled. Or gargle warm salt water and spit it out.

  • Warm water and salt gargle. Try not to swallow but it really does work. 3 times morn, noon and night, :)

  • Bee propolis lozenges from the health food store (if not allergic to bees). Other than that, plenty of rest and water.

  • honey and lemon in water soothes the throat

  • Try some honey in warm water – best cure I’ve tried so far.
