I would follow his lead and don’t led it depend on weather.
When you would wait for warmer weather to arrive, you actually teach your boy for some months to ignore his signals – which you then have to unlearn again !

I think that it is successful in either season but it just means you probably will have little messes inside instead of outside. As summer it is easier to have them outside.

start early and make it fun to sit on a potty,read a bookor whatever,the object here is to make them feel it’s ok to sit,even if they do nothing.don’t reward with a lolly as they learn very quickly what they get,for nothing.use certain times,like after a bath, or lunch,you will start to know the signs of them wanting togo and either not knowing themselves or leaving it to late.PRAISE the hell out of the first dribble,they love praise tell dad,grandma,take a photo,anything is good,and let them have no nappy time,they love the fresh air and soon find a wet nappy is no fun,but reading time on the potty is.and for boys,you gotta get one of those tommie tippe things,or a housbrick!!it never lasts that long and it’s usually arpound the same for every parent.

Toilet training in the warmer months can help if you want to let them run around without pants on so they can go whenever they want.
