Hello!

Are you still buying valentine gifts for that great personal friend or have you now stopped? With so many other items and days coming up for us to buy for, there is a lot going on. I will be out for lunch with my husband, how about you? Anything special in mind, like meals, candles, music etc? Would love to read other peoples thoughts on it.

  • the gift of experiences like picnic and wine trails that different companies organize or you can organize yourself.

  • i find valentines day to be a halmark holiday, theres no need for a gift. simply telling your special someone they are important too you should be worth more than random gifts of flowers or chocolates. show them you care with your words not random valentines junk

  • It’s coming back around, we love little meaningful gifts and can be home made

  • I think if you love them, you should show them every day, not just Valentine’s Day. We have never celebrated it and never will, such a waste of money

  • If we decide to go out for meal we usually do it on a different day / night when places are less crowded and more romantic. We do the same for Mothers Day and Fathers Day. We normally go out on the Monday night. The kids often have sleepovers either with relatives or friends.
Sometimes I would be happy with just a bunch of silk flowers in a vase that U can keep and cherish or a plant in a pot – preferably one that doesn’t have to be watered if we go away for a few days. Some are much more drought tolerant than others.

  • We usually just have a nice dinner or lunch together these days.

  • Planning a special dinner for this year; love giving surprises.

  • A good excuse for lunch or dinner out! Also; not adverse to chocolate! It’s usually low key; more about the fun than buying expensive presents.

  • Licorice, that my husband loves!

  • No, I’m done with Valentine’s day, however I’d give chocolates or make up a gourmet basket.

  • Last Valentine’s Day my hubby bought me a gobstopper! Glad to see he still has a sense of humour ;)

  • just make the day special, gifts aren’t really needed

  • Only lunch in the restaurant and I got special gift from hubby :)

  • a nice card is all that is needed I believe

  • I have a massive rose garden, each Valentines day I wake up to a vase filled with freshly picked blooms, for me that is more special than anything he could buy
