I am 55 yrs of age and I just can’t seem to start anything to be mine. E.g exercise, cooking, sewing. How does one get motivated and what hobbies do you have?

  • I thought a cricut and love it!!! Still struggle to get it out sometimes with young kids but love when I do

  • I mix up my hobbies between knitting, crocheting, sewing, and building lego

  • Board games are a great hobby to share with friends or by yourself

  • I don’t have much spare time at the moment, but when I have I like reading a book, gardening, sewing, knitting, crochet, drawing, painting and catching up with friends.

  • Gardening, Pilates just give it a go

  • Try yoga or Pilates with a friend

  • Volunteering can be a wonderful way to meet people and be exposed to new experiences and hobbies

  • I suggest doing something outdoors. Being outside in nature always makes you feel more rejuvenated, also helps keep you fit if your going for a walk around your local lake, walking track etc. gardening can be very rewarding to. I like to plant fruit and veggies that way you get to reap the benefits of all your hard work you’ve done caring and watering them.

  • I’d be reading more if I had spare time.

  • Reading can take you to places you’ve never been. Plus you can join a book club and make new friends.

  • I’m not the poster of this question, but I’m loving the comments.

  • Pretty sure when you find something you enjoy, it will be easy to stay motivated and interested

  • Fifty seven here and still have young children to help pass the time. Depending on how I feel it can be puzzles, handicrafts or reading. I like listening to music too. Getting me time is hard sometimes but it is worth it for that sense of just being you.

  • My mother is your age and since dad has passed away she loves to read travel on cruise ships. The cruise ships don’t have to be expensive she saves for 1 a year and a lady in the village travels with her. Have a goal.
