How do I get my name out there for my recently started business I’m on Facebook and send things to friends but how do I get a greater audience to get people to look at my web and in the end ordering. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

  • It really depends on the kind of business you have. You need to know who you expect to purchase your goods; that’ll tell you where to advertise.

  • Yeah, Facebook isn’t that great for advertising. Unless your friends share with their friends who share with their friends etc. Maybe Gumtree or eBay. Have you considered putting up good old fashioned posters in shopping centres etc

  • yes have a web site and I have now put my name in yellow pages, hot frog, true local so hope that will help thanks everyone and happy shopping

  • Gumtree? Ebay shop! Such interesting comments read!

  • Yeah it is hard my manager even says that its hard to get people to buy online which I do fine a bit funny these days when everyone is doing it. I got a facebook page going and slowly getting people to like the page. I would be happy if I could get just 20 people to order a month. Mainly to pay for my Cancer treatment (medication) Still being Positive.
The hard thing doing it my way is that I cant do parties due to illness but hanging in get name out posting on my facebook. People like when I put the dog on it haha.
One reason why I Joined was so my daughter started using great products. They aren’t animal Tested. Product work and skin looks great.
Skin is the bodies main organ and what you put on it goes into the blood flow and with me having had leukemia this is why I am careful what I put on it not just what you put in it. A lot of products do have chemicals especially really cheap products. Going through a stem cell transplant was the hardest thing in my life and will never really got over it.
I love these products and hopefully one day others will as well.
They do last longer and work I buy a large bottle of OLC which has lasted over 6 months and can use to wash pots, clean shower, wash the dog and even wash myself in great if you have skin problems. Positive Positive one day the message will get through. Keep :-)

  • I agree with Rachelwrites on having a stall at a market. This seems to be successful for people marketing products and offering samples and demonstrations.

  • Thanks for your answer Rachel I will take that into consideration. Yes flyers haven’t been successful so I think I will target more local. The best way to sell is parties but im not doing parties so I will just have to tough it out for now and hope someone sees my book.

  • Home biz opportunities can be hard to market once you’ve exhausted the friends/family spectrum. Did Nutrimetics supply any training on how people effectively market their products and get sales? If not, you might be able to talk to them and get some ideas on how their high flyers do it.

Flyers usually have less than a 1% success rate so don’t waste your money there. The internet is not going to be easy either because competition is incredibly high; even if you have the most unique product in the world.

I recommend going at it from a local perspective and becoming the “go to” nutrimetics person in your town. You could start by making a list of businesses that complement your own (such as hairdressers, ladies clothing stores, lingerie stores, etc) and approaching them about a joint promotion. They may not be keen on just having a bunch of flyers put in the store – you’d have to work out a way to cross promote…so flyers that specifically show their company’s logo as well as your own, and offering customers 20% off nutrimetics when they call you to place an order and quote the other company’s name.

You might need to print up 10 different flyer bunches with different company logos on them, but it will get your name out there.

Other ideas might include setting up a stand at your local markets / shopping mall, referral cards and discounts for current customers, posting weird stuff on your facebook page that has the possibility of going viral (like “find the nutrimetics bottle” in some elaborate picture, or nutrimetics products go “walk about” like the travelling gnome thing), dropping in on some local “male dominated” workplaces (there won’t be any part time nutrimetics consultants working there already!) and trying to sell them on buying stuff for their wives, dressing up your car with nutrimetics and your phone number all over it…

There’s so much you can do locally! And it gives you the chance to build a really strong network of local customers and business owners, so if you decide to change from nutrimetics and start a different business (maybe something of your own), you’ll still have all of those contacts to work with.

I wish you the best of luck with it, and if you wanna get in touch don’t hesitate to contact me via my website (goofysmile.com.au).

  • I know quite a few people who have a Facebook page for their business like that :) Create one, share with all your friends and ask them to share as well :)

  • I have done flyers over 1000 still had no response but on positive note gets me out walking.

  • Gumtree? Ebay shop? Printing out leaflets and put in peoples letterbox? Or get a custom made sticker for your car so everyone will see your business while on the road.

  • What is your business? I believe there is a noticeboard section on this site? Maybe check it out?

  • I recently started doing Nutrimetics as recently had a transplant so thought this would be good to do at home. People can look online order and get it delivered to their home. http://www.nutrimetics.com.au/tracybaker is my web and can even ask questions.

  • What’s your website? Share it here so people can have a look…that will generate a little traffic to begin with!

There are a million and one ways to market an online business – and many of the best ones are actually offline.

Love to help, just need more info on what your business does!

  • Competitions and sharing seems to be what people do on fb to raise their profile.
