  • Before the holidays start we sit down together as a family and discuss all of the things that we would like to do or get done. These holidays we are going camping, hanging up some pictures, going to the beach, visiting a new cousin, having a sleepover and each week making a cake and biscuits. That’s our list so far :)

  • I tired to find local free activities to do, we visit parks, go swimming have play dates with friends, anything to keep the kids active and busy

  • My suggestion go to Gold coast on coming school holidays. Spend time with your kid and get fresh get ready for next year.

  • I always check our local government website as well as our local shopping centre website for ideas.

  • We organise play dates and take the kids out to parks/playground/beach/picnics…. anything to keep them from going stir crazy indoors or demolishing the place. Local libraries are great and some local councils have fantastic activities on

  • Go to your local council website. Ours usually has a kids program with free or cheap activities each day.

  • I really dislike school holidays because all of the toddler activities go on break but the school holiday activities are all aimed at older children. It sucks.
We go to different parks, bike rides, play in the backyard, picnics. Hoping to go to the zoo these school holidays. When the weather isn’t great we bake, arts & crafts, dress ups, read, indoor obstacle course.
I usually keep up to date with events via Facebook, both on the local mum group and in the events section. Shopping centres, libraries and community centres sometimes have age appropriate activities.

  • I always look through the events tab on Facebook to see if I can find something fun and free for our boys to do. You’d be surprised what you find. Search your local area or any holiday destinations to see what’s happening.

  • Beach and creeks and parks are always great in summer. Most libraries have programs that run over the holidays too if you need some inside time out of the house. At home I like to just do something different, cooking day (my bub just sits with some utensils and an empty bowl), explore yard we pick herbs, look at all the plants and pick weeds, the usual play dough, paints and music time.

  • Inside the home, dvd days, reading days, art and craft days, cooking days, game days and maybe introducing some new and fun activities for days.

  • It depends on age and depends on location. Start with lists of things, activities and places liked by everyone. Libraries and museums offer activities and often these are free or at a reasonable cost. Outdoor activities are good and picnics and walks and creative arts and nature activities are good too. There are limitless possibilities.

  • When my daughter was young I used to book her in activities at the local library or museums. It also depends on the age of your kids.

  • So many things depending on your kids ages. DVD days. Picnics. Visits to the park or beach. Visit friends. Local libraries and state museums often gave exhibitions on. Let their friends visit for sleepovers
