I’m trying to start my own traditions with my family, and I am struggling to think of what I can do at Easter and even other holidays (birthdays, xmas ect. I would love some inspiration!

  • we go to the inflatable water park on australia day every year.
and we always do a big activity on the last day of every school holidays.

  • We go to church on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. During the holiday we always try to get away as a family to recharge and enjoy quality time together.

  • At Easter I take a photo of all of my kids wearing bunny ears, and at Christmas one where they’re wearing Santa hats. I’ve done it every year since they were born, so after 13 years it’s building into a beautiful way of tracking their growth.

  • Besides special crafts, baking, egg hunts, bush walks and family time, we love to go to church.

  • We also like to make Easter baskets and also do egg hunting – such fun!

  • For Easter we always do the Easter Egg hunt on Sundays. We also go to the Easter Show which can be quite expensive and not everyones cuppa tea. I have been going every year since I was 6 (except few years in my 20’s and last year due to Covid) with my Dad and now I take my kids every year.

  • Last Christmas I did a scavenger hunt advent calendar for my hubby and this year I want to do one for my toddler as she had her first Easter egg hunt and absolutely loved it.

  • We all gather for a meal/s and spend time together relaxing.

  • We always have a Christmas Dinner on Christmas Eve with just our family Hubbie me and the kids so then Christmas Day is just spent with others

  • My sister does a cute one for Christmas. Wraps books up and the kids get to open one “present” a night leading up to Christmas in December and they read it before bed. I keep wanting to copy this idea but never get organised enough to do it. Better than a chocolate advent calendar. Her kids get so excited to open and find out what book it is.
