Hello!

What are your thoughts on circumcision? I am having a boy and would love the positives and negatives about circumcision.

  • Personally I wouldn’t do it unless there is a medical indication.

  • My opinion is why can’t we live nature’s gifts alone. Our bodies are God given and unless there is a general health risk and are advised by a medical profession , we shouldn’t be contemplating any sort of surgery especially when babies are already born healthy and at low risk of health issues. I have heard that perhaps is will make the area ” cleaner ” , but this is an area that really should be left alone . Hope you make a good decision anyway , everyone’s thoughts are different .

  • we tried to get my sons circumcised due to family issues and recommendations to avoid problems in the genital area – we couldn’t find any doctor who would do it, there were such long waiting lists and there was a very limited window when they would do it.

  • i didn’t even consider it. I won’t do this to my child, no way. Up until VERY recently, this procedure was done with no anesthesia so the child felt everything. I won’t do this and it is a decision that my son will make, if he wants to, when he is older. I see no need for it and that stuff is all there by evolution’s design. I don’t need to mess with nature. No harder for boys to wash themselves there vs any other part of their body.

  • In my area there is a dr that does the majority of circumsicions, very renounced and praised for his work. Personally if I had a boy I’d consider it nut think it would be something I’d have to decide once the baby was born. A friend never got her son done and regrets it as he has autism and wont let them wash him, shes worried he’ll have to nget done when hes older, autism rates are higher in boys

  • I believe that circumcision has many advantages for the child. There is an increased risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs) that can become recurrent and cause complications in uncircumcised individuals. This can also result in the decision to be circumcised as an older child, adolescent or even adult.
