  • We used to make mini skirts and bags from them :)

  • I have seen the top bit of jeans turned into bags. But if the crotch is no good, I’m not sure how successful you will be with this suggestion

  • Cut the legs off, sew up the bottom (and the hole if necessary) add a strap and a zip or button to the top. And voile you have a shoulder/hand bag

  • try making some bibs – they can make a lovely present especially if you are able to do some applique on them

  • Cut them into 3/4 pants, or short shorts for summer. Use the scissors, cut off the legs then just sew them up. I used a sewing machine to make this job easier. Good luck with your old jeans .

  • An interesting thing to do with old jeans is to cut up the seams, which then provide you with thin strips. Twirl them around and around to form a coaster. I guess you’d have to glue them in place. Just another idea for you to try if you like.

  • Lots of things can be made from old jeans if you are a crafty person.
The nicest thing I saw was a covered notebook. The old pockets were left on the front and used to store pens.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

  • My sister in law cuts them up and either makes shorts or 3/4 pants out of them . She uses the scissors to cut off the legs then just sews up the hems to make it nice and neat . Of course she has a sewing machine to make this job easier . Good luck with it .

  • I made bandana bibs for my son with an old pair of jeans also cut a skirt and bleached it.

  • No crutch. oops not shorts then! little shoulder bags for any young girls. Doll clothes.

  • CAN MAKE DENIM SHORTS. Old jeans are in. even if abit worn.

  • Ive seen tutorials for making kids aprons out of the legs.

  • Take a look around this site and you may find some denim inspired ideas?

  • Jeans may be made into cushions and bags and anything that your imagination may like! bags are particularly sturdy when made from denim.

  • Denim jean material is great for wheat bags being nice and strong. You could buy 5Kg wheat from your local fodder store and sew up some winter gifts. If you’re using old legs then some of the sewing is done for you. Just 2 seams! Don’t forget to add any embellishments – like names in ribbon etc. – before you add the wheat. It is much easier. And make sure there are no metal items in the embellishments since that makes them harder to heat in microwave.
