  • steamed/pureed pumpkin or sweet potato.

  • Avocado was the very first food we tried and it was a big hit, it’s soft and mushy and easy for them to grab a hold of.
17 months later and it’s still a favourite

  • Rice cereal mixed with breast milk (or formula).

  • Many parents believe that baby cereals are the best first food for babies, but doctors are increasingly suggesting otherwise with more traditional foods that are easier to digest and less likely to trigger allergies gaining favor such as soft boiled egg yolk. And that’s what we did; soft boiled egg yolk from our backyard chickens and my kids loved it !

  • We have done pureed veges at 4 months, atm i do a sweet potato, carrot, broccoli, pumpkin or any of those combinations. Come 6 months we are doing Baby lead weaning.

  • We started with steamed and pureed veggies with breast milk in it, the milk made it less of a shock to eat :)

  • Puréed organic foods worked a treat

  • We started out with Rice cereal, we used the Nestle Cerelac brand, but I think there is one called Farex also.
After a week or so with the cereal alone, we started adding some of the puréed Apple to give him a different taste.

  • Start with rice cereal as this is less likely to cause allergies. Then you can progress to pureed veggies.

  • Start with rice cereal like farex then introduce steamed puréed veggies. Good luck

  • They first had rice cereal with breast milk. As time went on, there was more cereal. Then I began to add different fruits and veggies, mashed and mixed thru the cereal. Slowly adding new foods in case on allergies

  • I first started with rice cereal “Cerelac”, then puree avocado, sweet potato, carrots, broccoli, pear.

  • The very first feed was farax, then I started with pureed apple, then pear, then carrot. After a few months I went to the baby section, had a look at their combinations to give me ideas, then went and bought all the fresh and frozen veges and pureed my own and made similar combinations to them. I’d cook a pot of each vege up, puree it then put it in an icecube tray to freeze small individual portions, then grab a combination cubes (like pea, carrot and apple) and mix them together. Different combinations all the time.

  • The very first thing I started with was Farex baby cereal (from the supermarket).

  • For my first child i purchased a book by annabel karmel, it was so full of great useful recipes for the whole family. ( for the aduts and the older kids we just didnt puree the food) It was so yummy for all of us as most of the time we ate the same foods.
