I agree with Nadine Hill’s answer – a Pinata is great idea. We had fun making one and it was so colourful and then we used it at the end of the party – loads of fun!

Foam pieces with items on the end of skewers such as butterflies, love hearts etc. You could use teddy bears with different colour ribbons around their necks or flowers in a water bowl?

I’ve made butterflies from small squares of coloured paper, attached them to wire and poked them into a piece of craft sponge – looks very pretty especially if there is a little breeze – they flutter beautifully! A large glass bowl looks great when filled with marbles, sea shells, little toys and/or trolls. A decorative Pinata looks awesome as a centre piece and can be used at the end of the party too!

I have made displays with party hats and streamers and other party novelties – lots of colour.
