Do you put in food and drink or arts and crafts or a mixed range of hamper items?

  • mixed range, usually something pampering like a hand cream or bit special body wash. Chocolate is always a feature.

  • If I make a hamper I try and do it to suit the person I am making it for – Ie someone who loves to read I’d add some books, some snacks, maybe a bottle of wine and a nice blanket or fluffy dressing gown. Or a gardener I might add some gloves, some gardening tools, a gardening book etc.. I guess it depends on what they’re into :)

  • It depends on who I’m making the hamper for – but generally I try to include at least one keepsake item as well as consumables.

  • I love to do movie night in packs with a DVD and snacks

  • I out little candles, books, jams, coffee. What ever I have at hand really

  • Wine crackers, nuts , shortbread, tea towels etc

  • Sometimes I do themes like Mexican some mexican beer nacho chips salsa limes etc or italian with pasta olives cheese wine etc

  • Things that are personal to the recipient – eg notebook, vase, mug… Anything not too expensive but nice.

  • Definitely depends who it’s for for me – but usually wine, chocolates, candles, maybe a cheeseboard, olives or stuffed peppers and a decorative item from kmart or something :)

  • I think hampers are so creative and can be made really nicely . Women can have beauty products, candles , soaps etc that smells nice . Food hampers can have chocolates ,biscuits etc. I think you have to know the person too otherwise items can be unsuitable .

  • depends who it is for.

soaps, candles, deoderant, perfumes, homemade cookies or treats, choccies, fruit cake, scratchies

  • Aprilb1 – personalising each hamper/basket is a great idea. Your ideas sounds great.

  • Depends who its for – my nan i gave her a hamper with teabags, biscuits, a calendar, candles, fruit cake, tea towles etc for my sister i do beauty items like body washes, sprays, candles, a yearly diary, chocolates etc

  • I like to put in wine/champagne,chocolates and gourmet goodies!

  • I put things like the dry ingredients for cookies which still need to be made in jars, with a note of what needs to be added to make them and how long to cook them, a wooden icy pole stick which has a heap of dried melted chocolate and a few little marhmellows on it, with insturctions attched like sit in a hot cup of milk, home made preserves, chutneys. and for christmas some homemade shortbread and fruit mince tart, and a few slices of fruit cake.
