Hello!

Hi, I was wondering what you thought about these ball pits. One time my daughter was playing at a centre and a kid took his nappy off and they had to clean it down to clean it but they only would of clean the ones they saw on top they don’t take all the balls out to clean. So they would be dirty they would never clean them, thinking about all the kids that would use them over years. Yeah think I will boycott them from now on. Yuk.

  • It would be yuck to imagine what is at the bottom of them all.
We have one and our friends’ kids went in it and after they left there were chicken nuggets and chips all throughout it.
Needless to say they were never invited back here again…

  • Yes i don’t like them at all. It even makes me wonder at the doctors etc if they clean the toys in the waiting room’s especially with ‘hand, foot in mouth disease’ so easy to catch this way

  • Eew, yep I hsve always thoughg germ fedt but hey babies eat all kinds of stuff!

  • At he end of the day the whole play centre is full of just as many germs so if you feel that way don’t bother going to them or a park, or a child care… Etc.

  • Play centres I would trust a little more that some other ball pits. I have heard of people who have had “relations” in ball pits before. ewwww!!!

  • never really thought about it, but kids will be kids and kids will encounter germs, do we really need to ruin their fun for that? and i have been told by someone before that weekly they remove all balls and sterilise them.

  • I personally cannot stand them. So many kids and so many germs. I am like you and boycott them when I can. I also have many bottles of hand sanitizer in my bag, the car – everywhere for these sorts of places. I’m sure that playcentres are a great place for kids to pick up so many yukky bugs.

  • Maybe get your own little ball pit and invite some little playmates around for a play. At least you will be able to clean it and know what is in it! :)

  • Every time my little guy goes on one of those indoor playgrounds he gets sick – doesn’t happen when he goes on the outdoor ones. I’d probably recommend avoiding the indoor ones altogether!

  • Hopefully other centres follow Health and Safety and clean their play equipment? Kids should always wash hands before and after play as a part of general good hygiene.

  • Yeah, my kids love them, but I always wonder about what’s near the bottom…

  • Have to say I do avoid them as I have seen kids with food in them and all sort of other stuff

  • I don’t think about it too much. I think people are way too germ a phobic nowadays.

  • yeah i have seen the ones at the show that have all kinds of stuff at the bottom! i think just make your own! much cleaner

  • I try not to think about it. If we think it the “right” way, we will never bring kids to the playground.
