  • I never knew he was on Facebook, I don’t follow him and certainly would never ever follow Trump !

  • I think president Trump on twitter is much worse. The stuff he tweets is so immature and so un president like. I don’t recall Obama being that bad

  • I rather suspect its a PR person doing any posting etc.

  • Why not? Every-one is on it and it show’s he is connecting with the current generation!

  • Sorry – but I still think it demeans the high office of being President of USA.
He isn’t just a politician or a celebrity, he holds the highest office in the land and therefore should respect and be respected for such a high honour.

  • yeah well almost everybody else in on it. celebs are, politicans are, so it is no big deal.

  • Not at all. He’s catching up with the times and the youth of this social media generation. It’s probably the easiest and most effective way to get in touch with everyone.

  • I am happy for high profile people to be more accessible and for people to be better connected. As long as pages and profiles are positive and not negative. If a page is negative then leave it or block it – choose only what interests you.

  • So many have complained about trolls and so many people have taken their lives because of social media, so why would a President of USA bother going onto social media?
If as others suggest, it isn’t him answering the questions/comments being put to him on this social media interface, then why is he making such a big deal of it?
I believe he has [virtually] walked his followers through the White House that he and his wife and children have lived in for the past 8 years and through his backyard. What is the point of this if somebody else is answering the questions people pose?
I don’t like this – it feels like a scam to me.

  • Many high profile people use facebook to maintain a profile and stay connected with people. Often they have staff to oversee the content of their page. Many politicians have facebook pages and some have interesting information to share with the community. They are elected by the people and I do not have a problem with politicians having their own facebook pages and giving to the people. There are plenty of other things that pollies have done over the years that may have demeaned their roles! ;)

  • If it is him it shows he is more interested in connecting with the people than previous presidents.

  • Not at all – being current and connected if good

  • Are you sure it’s actually him? More often then not,mFacebook accounts for famous people are set up by someone else. The Pope has a Facebook, if it’s good enough for him……
