As far as I knew so long as it was completely cool before fridging or freezing with no condensation on the lid in an air tight container or bag it was fine.
Only rule I’ve ever followed (other than those common sense ones) is: If it’s been frozen raw and then defrosted even a little cook it before refreezing, and if it’s cooked and been defrosted eat it that day.
Oh and I never freeze rice – but then I never put rice in the fridge either – a little known fact is that most cases of food poisoning occur not from chicken or meat as is commonly believed but rice – because when rice goes bad it doesn’t smell look or taste any different – until it goes really bad and then it gets that pink weird crap growing on it. So I am always better safe than sorry with rice. But I freeze pretty much anything else.
